At 0450, before the alarm, we were both awake and it’s 43o in Salisbury. We left the house at 0530 for the brief drive to the airport, seeing 2 deer feeding in the fields. Check-in was effortless though we have two separate destinations. We boarded right away, but were 10 minutes late departing on runway 32. The 20-minute flight was smooth except for a few bumps descending through the cloud tops. We landed at 0715 on runway 35. We checked the departure board and took the shuttle bus to the AB terminals. We walked out to gate B6 and Cibo bar and grille. We both chose lemon ricotta pancakes with a glass of Riesling. After we parted, Lew headed for B15 and DFW, and me to C27, and MCO. At 0940, I boarded with the Captain projecting an on-time push back and a 2- hour flight. At 1033, we were wheels up from 27L. I had a bourbon and ginger with some nuts and a cheese and fruit tray. Halfway through the flight, we had a few minutes of light turbulence and they suspended the refreshment service. I landed at 1230 and Chris from Mears was there to greet me as expected, whisking me to the Contemporary. My room was not yet ready, so I went to the Wave Lounge and had a Pimm’s Punch (11.25) and a nice chat with Kristi, the bartender, as the bar was empty. Leaving the bar, I learned my room, 4705 (11th floor bayview) was ready. While unpacking, a knock on the door presented a nice welcoming chocolate tray from the hotel. I walked down to the Convention Center and fixed a printing problem for Lisa before returning to the room, via Bayview gifts and liquid room supplies. Just after 6, I headed for the monorail ride over to the Grand Floridian and Citricos. At 2100, it’s 68o at WDW. With the window open, I enjoyed the sounds of the boat parade, but with eyes closed, didn’t see it. Maybe tomorrow.
