Around 1300, we'll arrive in Lunenburg, NS.
At 0605, it’s 54 and we’re still moored in Bar Harbor awaiting repairs. Lew skipped breakfast, so I went down and had corned beef hash, bacon and recorded our choices for lunch and dinner. The captain announced we were repaired, but awaiting Coast Guard certification for seaworthiness, and were planning on sailing at 1700. New sailing instructions were distributed. In the morning, the cruise director held a meeting of the Oyster Society, which is Pearl Seas version of the ACL Eagle Society. Then it was down to lunch. We both started with the Asparagus soup. Lew moved on to the Pasta Alfredo with Mushroom and Parmesan Cheese and I had a cheese burger. We both finished with the Buttermilk Caramel Flan. Then it was back to the room for naps. At 4. I went down for Boozy Bingo in the Atlantic Lounge, but Lew didn’t get up from her nap. At 1730, we went forward to the Pacific Lounge and the daily cocktail party. From there it was down to dinner, and, after 6, we finally got under way for Halifax, with Lunenburg having been skipped as a port of call. At dinner, we both started with the Moules Marnieres of mussels, shallots, white wine and parsley. Lew moved on to the spinach & feta stuffed chicken breast with couscous pilaf, and grilled zucchini shallot cream sauce. I selected the thyme crusted pork tenderloin with Brussel’s sprouts, garlic mashed potatoes and marsala gravy. We skipped dessert and headed up. New sailing instructions and a new Daily Explorer revealed Pictou has also been skipped as a port of call. With the gentle roar of the ship’s wake, the gentle roll of the boat and an outside temperature in the 50s, we went to bed with the balcony door slightly ajar at 2130.
