At 0627, it’s 67 at Bay Lake Tower, in the rain, and we’re headed for Hollywood Studios. We went, first, to Star Tours where the scooter got us priority treatment, though Linda admitted, later, that her eyes were closed for most of the ride, Our tour opened with being accosted by droids and storm troopers as we left, before making the jump to light speed and arriving at the Ice Planet Hoth. Princess Leia then sent us on to Corescant where we survived the battle and crashed onto a landing pad. Back out into the rain, we found the line for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway a bit long, so we joined the 45-minute line at Midway Mania. Jerry won with 120K+ points, while Lyd had 100K; I had 90K and Linda finished with around 80K. From there, it was back out into the rain and back to Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, inside Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, which used to house the Great Movie Ride. We braved the 45-minute wait for a good ride, our first experience with this attraction. Back out in the rain, we headed for The Hollywood Brown Derby, and lunch. Following lunch, Lyd, Linda and I headed back to Bay Lake Tower, still in the rain, while Jerry headed for the Tower of Terror. As the afternoon progressed, and the rain worsened, we concluded that The Boathouse at Disney Springs just wasn’t going to happen. We cancelled it and had sandwiches from the Contempo Café on the 4th floor of the Contemporary. Even in heavy rain, the fireworks still went off at 2000. Linda called Brian and then also called Julia. We debated another trip, to include Julia and Matt, and, at 2155, it’s 66 at Bay lake Tower, still raining.
