Melon, Mozzarella, Prosciutto Skewers
The framework for this comes from Southern Living's May 2009 issue.
Ingredients:
20 1" cantaloupe or honeydew cubes [about 2.5 cups]
20 thin slices prosciutto [about 1/2 lb]
20 fresh small mozzarella balls (Ciligni) [about 8 oz.] Freshly ground pepper
20 4" wooden toothpicks
Procedures:
Thread 1 melon cube, 1 prosciutto slice and one mozzarella ball onto each skewer.
Sprinkle with cracked pepper.
Notes:
2026-05-10: a double batch was made, some without ,prosciutto, for a Mother’s Day luncheon and Ann and Santo’s.
2021-05-23: We used marinated Ciligni for a very good result.
2021-04-03: We used a mixture of cherry-size Ciligni and marinated Ciligni with deli prosciutto and cantaloupe.
2020-10-18: The parts were prepared for Sunday football snacks, but not assembled on skewers.
2019-06-08: a batch taken to Santo and Ann’s for games and dinner.
